Bath’s
secret oasis
As you’d expect, The Hop Pole
is a great place for a pint, but if you’re aware of
the pub’s growing reputation for outstanding cuisine,
then why not book a table in the restaurant? Here you can
enjoy fine food accompanied by suitably well-kept cask ales,
or wine from a selection designed to suit all tastes.
Adjoining the restaurant is the spacious
beer garden. When we took over The Hop Pole a few years back,
we lovingly restored the garden and it’s now become
one of the pub’s most popular and talked about features.
No wonder people describe the place as a country pub in the
heart of the city. |

The Hop Pole’s exterior is
pretty understated, so drive slowly if you’re trying
to spot it. That said, as it's just opposite Bath’s
Royal Victoria Park finding it really is child’s play.
