For those who know...
With a head that should be savoured rather than severed, we brewed Bradshaw’s to be a beer for the ordinary man.
and those who don't...
The many fine brews commemorating the 2011 royal wedding continued a proud tradition of association between British breweries and the establishment. But for people less inclined to celebrate royal occasions, we produced a beer that made reference to an earlier time of historical significance. In 1649, Judge John Bradshaw condemned King Charles I to death. Before the axe fell, Charley tried to tell the crowd that “A subject and a sovereign are different things.” If, like us, you believe all men are equal, and would prefer to revere great beer than cheer chaps like Charley, you’ll enjoy Bradshaw’s 1649 Sovereign Ale. Bradshaw’s contains wheat and barley malt. 4.7% abv
