Bath Ales : About our brewery

Our brewery is situated in Warmley, between Bath and Bristol. Here, cutting edge technology – including our highly efficient steam-driven brewing plant – blends with our brewers' skill and patience, and the use of time-honoured brewing techniques.

Small brewery, big ideas

Our brewery may be just one of several independent micro-breweries that have been created in the region over recent years, but unlike many new enterprises, we were able to draw upon our founders' long and varied experience of brewing.

Over a relatively short time – and in an increasingly saturated market – we have developed a reputation for producing distinctive, high quality ales that are full of character and flavour.

Much of this is down to our careful selection of the finest floor-malted barley, the best English hops and the use of our own cultured yeast.

While the quality of our ales is of paramount importance, we care passionately about the environment too. Our spent grain is used by local farmers as feed for their livestock, and our spent hops and yeast are turned into fertiliser.

Continued investment has meant that we now brew using a highly efficient steam-driven brew plant. We've clever heat exchangers that take the warmth generated naturally by the fermentation process and use it to heat the hot water we need.

All in all, for a small brewery we think we're doing pretty well.
